Junior Catholic Daughters of the Americas (JCDA), our youth program for girls ages six (6) through eighteen (18) was founded in 1925. The Juniorettes, also known as the "Jetts" are ages 6 - 10. The Juniors are ages 11 - 18.
JCDA members have four basic goals operating under the motto of Message, Service and Community:
The JCDA colors are royal blue and white. Take advantage of the opportunity to review the many projects performed by JCDA members through love and charity by navigating through the convention and retreat reports as well as the Junior Jazz Newsletters found on the State website; by clicking here.
Each CDA court in Texas contributes a portion of their state dues per member annually for the support of Texas JCDA members. These funds enable our JCDA state officers to host the JCDA Biennial State Convention, institute new courts, and attend organizational meetings and retreats.
Dedicated sponsors and Advisors across Texas give much more than money; they give their time, talent, and their love to help girls develop a deeper relationship with God, the Church, and community.
JCDA offers our young ladies a great opportunity to engage themselves in spiritual growth, leadership, and service while they remain under the protective umbrella of our Catholic faith! CDA has a variety of annual scholarship programs from the local court level to our national JCDA scholarship that awards $1,000.00 annually to a JCDA member entering college.
JCDA members are the present and the future of CDA, our Church, and society. JCDA in Texas has provided outstanding services to its members and has played an important role in the Catholic youth community.
Please encourage your local CDA court to appoint a Youth/JCDA Advisor and move forward to the institution of a JCDA court in your parish! Jesus said, "Bring the children to me."
